Our electrical substation division is supporting planned equipment replacement at a National Grid site with a combined topographical and PAS 128 buried utility survey.

3D Engineering Surveys' electrical substation division is currently undertaking an urgent topographical and PAS 128 buried utility survey at a National Grid substation in the UK, in preparation for upcoming equipment replacement works.

The survey is designed to capture the key information needed for both civil and electrical equipment design. By combining a detailed topographical survey with a PAS 128 compliant buried utility survey, the project team will have an accurate picture of above-ground assets and existing underground services before replacement works begin, helping to reduce risk and support confident design decisions.

Working within a live, high-voltage environment requires the right people and procedures. The survey is being carried out by our National Grid-accredited surveyors and supervised by our in-house National Grid Competent Person (CP), ensuring all activities are delivered safely and in accordance with National Grid site requirements.

This project reflects our continued experience supporting the UK's power transmission network, providing reliable survey data for substations, overhead lines and buried cable routes.
