3D Engineering Surveys Ltd (3DES) was proud to welcome representatives from its valued Libyan partner, Taknia Libya Engineering Company (TLEC), to the United Kingdom in May 2026 — a visit that marked a significant milestone in the ongoing collaboration between the two organizations in support of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) of Libya.
A Visit Rooted in Professional Standards
As a UK company fully regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), 3DES hosted the TLEC delegation at RICS Headquarters in Westminster, London—widely regarded as the global home of professional surveying. The visit to RICS HQ was a fitting reflection of the shared values that underpin the TLEC / 3DES partnership: a mutual commitment to technical excellence, professional integrity, and delivering world-class engineering outcomes.
Bristol Office Tour and Collaborative Workspace
The delegation also visited 3D Engineering Surveys' newly expanded Bristol office, located at Unit 5, West Point Row, Bristol — the company's primary UK survey hub. The facility has been purpose-built to accommodate the growing demands of the TLEC / 3DES joint programme, featuring dedicated space for collaborative project management operations between the two organizations.
In addition to serving as a project delivery centre, the Bristol office will function as a key training hub, where Libyan clients and engineers can visit the UK to develop a deeper, hands-on understanding of 3DES methodologies, digital workflows, and engineering deliverables. This initiative forms part of 3DES's broader commitment to knowledge transfer and capacity building in support of Libya's energy sector.
A Growing Partnership Supporting Libya's Digital Engineering Future
The 3DES and TLEC collaboration has been gathering momentum in recent years, with joint efforts focused on bringing Libya's oil and gas facilities into the digital era through precision as-built laser surveys, intelligent 3D modelling, Digital Twin solutions, EDMS, and asset management platforms — all in direct support of NOC Libya's modernization objectives.
This partnership was previously showcased at the Libya Africa International Gas Forum 2025, where both organizations presented their shared digital engineering vision to an international audience across Africa. The May 2026 UK visit builds on that momentum, reinforcing the operational and technical foundations needed to deliver on an ambitious and growing programme of work.
Looking Ahead
3D Engineering Surveys Ltd looks forward to continued collaboration with TLEC and to welcoming further visits from Libyan clients and colleagues to its UK offices. The opportunity to share expertise, align on methodologies, and build lasting professional relationships is central to 3DES's vision for its international partnerships.
This was a highly productive and valuable visit — one that further cements a strong, forward-looking relationship between two organisations committed to delivering the highest standards of digital engineering in Libya and beyond.
